NUSTIAN — the NUST United States Technology, Industry and Academic Network — and NUST, the National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan, operate under a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 16 October 2019.

The memorandum was signed by NUST’s Pro-Rector (RIC) on behalf of the university and by the President of NUSTIAN on behalf of the network. It sets out the shared principles and vision of both organisations and defines their respective roles and responsibilities, with the aim of raising the international profile of NUST and strengthening NUSTIAN’s role in the life of the NUST community.

What the memorandum establishes

• NUST’s University Advancement Office (UAO) maintains an effective line of communication with NUSTIAN and acts as the primary focal point for communication.
• The UAO is the primary liaison and point of contact between NUSTIAN and the NUST administration, covering both academic and non-academic activities.
• The UAO facilitates visibility for NUSTIAN among NUST alumni.
• NUST and NUSTIAN coordinate on any fundraising in the United States, so that no duplicate or parallel fundraising efforts run at the same time.
• Funds raised through NUSTIAN may only be disbursed for student and alumni advancement activities.

The partnership continues to support NUST students, promote and share excellence, and encourage uplifting trends in research, education and industry.
